APP-STORE STORYTELLING

Check Google Play preview assets before handoff

Google Play distinguishes preview asset types and applies requirements to each. Verify the current rules for the exact asset you are delivering.

Put it into practice

  1. Locate the intended asset field in Play Console.
  2. Check the official format and content requirements.
  3. Inspect the exported file before handing it to the release owner.

What this looks like

WORKED EXAMPLE

A handoff folder separates the feature graphic from phone screenshots.

A detail to keep clear

A successful image export does not mean the store will approve the listing.

Using MockupX

Store specifications are maintained by Apple and Google and can change. Check the relevant console's current requirements for the device family and asset type. MockupX creates images; it does not submit listings, validate every policy or guarantee approval.

Check the result

Keep the original screenshot, then review the exported file at the size where people will see it. Check the message, the visible interface and the final crop separately. For a handoff, record the destination and the approved file so another person can distinguish the final version from a draft.
