SCREENSHOT PREPARATION

Why does a screenshot look soft inside a mockup?

A sharp export starts with a source screenshot large enough for its displayed area. Enlarging a small image smooths pixels rather than recovering detail.

Put it into practice

  1. Compare source pixels with the screen area in the final export.
  2. Recapture the interface at a larger useful viewport.
  3. Inspect labels at 100% before adding a device frame.

What this looks like

WORKED EXAMPLE

A 400-pixel-wide capture stretched across a 1200-pixel product panel loses small navigation text.

A detail to keep clear

A larger export multiplier increases output pixels; it does not restore missing source information.

Using MockupX

MockupX accepts pasted, dropped and uploaded images. Screen capture depends on browser support and your permission. The phone-transfer flow uses a temporary upload session. Prepare your source image before decorating it: a frame cannot recover unreadable text or remove sensitive information for you.

Check the result

Keep the original screenshot, then review the exported file at the size where people will see it. Check the message, the visible interface and the final crop separately. For a handoff, record the destination and the approved file so another person can distinguish the final version from a draft.
