APP-STORE STORYTELLING

Keep screenshot interface language consistent with the listing

The screenshot and its surrounding caption should tell the same localized story. Capture the interface in the intended language when possible.

Put it into practice

  1. Set the app's locale.
  2. Capture representative content for that market.
  3. Review labels and external copy together.

What this looks like

WORKED EXAMPLE

A French listing uses a French interface capture instead of an English screen under French copy.

A detail to keep clear

Do not imply a fully localized interface when only the marketing caption is translated.

Using MockupX

Store specifications are maintained by Apple and Google and can change. Check the relevant console's current requirements for the device family and asset type. MockupX creates images; it does not submit listings, validate every policy or guarantee approval.

Check the result

Keep the original screenshot, then review the exported file at the size where people will see it. Check the message, the visible interface and the final crop separately. For a handoff, record the destination and the approved file so another person can distinguish the final version from a draft.
