SOCIAL & LAUNCH GRAPHICS

Adapt a wide product screenshot for a square post

A square image usually needs a focused crop or a simpler layout. Preserve the product task instead of squeezing the entire wide screenshot.

Put it into practice

  1. Select the feature region in the source.
  2. Choose a square canvas.
  3. Balance the crop with a concise caption.

What this looks like

WORKED EXAMPLE

A wide analytics dashboard becomes one chart with its title and units.

A detail to keep clear

Do not crop away context that changes the meaning of the displayed data.

Using MockupX

A social composition is a separate design from the original product screenshot. Use the output frame to establish shape, then test the exported image in the actual destination preview. MockupX does not publish posts or guarantee a platform will display every pixel without cropping.

Check the result

Keep the original screenshot, then review the exported file at the size where people will see it. Check the message, the visible interface and the final crop separately. For a handoff, record the destination and the approved file so another person can distinguish the final version from a draft.
