SOCIAL & LAUNCH GRAPHICS

Write useful alt text for a product mockup

Alt text should explain the relevant information in the image, not list every decorative detail. Add it in the destination publishing system.

Put it into practice

  1. Identify the image's purpose in the post.
  2. Describe the feature or comparison it conveys.
  3. Include important visible text if it is needed for understanding.

What this looks like

WORKED EXAMPLE

A caption describes a calendar view with a new weekly filter, rather than a purple phone on a background.

A detail to keep clear

MockupX exports pixels; accessibility text must be supplied where the image is published.

Using MockupX

A social composition is a separate design from the original product screenshot. Use the output frame to establish shape, then test the exported image in the actual destination preview. MockupX does not publish posts or guarantee a platform will display every pixel without cropping.

Check the result

Keep the original screenshot, then review the exported file at the size where people will see it. Check the message, the visible interface and the final crop separately. For a handoff, record the destination and the approved file so another person can distinguish the final version from a draft.
