SOCIAL & LAUNCH GRAPHICS

Prepare separate variants for different social placements

Different placements can crop or scale the same file differently. Create deliberate variants when the shapes differ materially.

Put it into practice

  1. List the destinations and confirm their current requirements.
  2. Choose matching output dimensions.
  3. Review each variant in its publishing preview.

What this looks like

WORKED EXAMPLE

A campaign has a square feed version and a portrait story version.

A detail to keep clear

Renaming one file for multiple placements does not change its composition or pixel dimensions.

Using MockupX

A social composition is a separate design from the original product screenshot. Use the output frame to establish shape, then test the exported image in the actual destination preview. MockupX does not publish posts or guarantee a platform will display every pixel without cropping.

Check the result

Keep the original screenshot, then review the exported file at the size where people will see it. Check the message, the visible interface and the final crop separately. For a handoff, record the destination and the approved file so another person can distinguish the final version from a draft.
