SCREENSHOT PREPARATION

Check image orientation before choosing a mockup

Match the source orientation to the content before selecting a frame. Rotating a composition and rotating the screenshot solve different problems.

Put it into practice

  1. Open the source image and verify it is upright.
  2. Choose a frame orientation that fits the captured interface.
  3. Inspect text and corners after placing it.

What this looks like

WORKED EXAMPLE

A landscape tablet screen fits a landscape device without forcing the interface sideways.

A detail to keep clear

Rotating the device for style should not rotate readable UI into an accidental sideways orientation.

Using MockupX

MockupX accepts pasted, dropped and uploaded images. Screen capture depends on browser support and your permission. The phone-transfer flow uses a temporary upload session. Prepare your source image before decorating it: a frame cannot recover unreadable text or remove sensitive information for you.

Check the result

Keep the original screenshot, then review the exported file at the size where people will see it. Check the message, the visible interface and the final crop separately. For a handoff, record the destination and the approved file so another person can distinguish the final version from a draft.
